REPORT OF MMBI SCIENTIST WAS RECOGNIZED AS ONE OF THE BEST AT THE ALL-RUSSIAN CONFERENCE IN ARKHANGELSK

From 24 to 28 June 2019, the All-Russian Conference with international participation was held in Arkhangelsk. II Yudahin Readings "Problems of Ensuring Ecological Safety and Sustainable Development of the Arctic Territories" together with the School of Young Scientists, organized by the Federal Research Center for Integrated Study of the Arctic and the Northern (Arctic) Federal University (NArFU) took place.

The conference included a plenary section where problems of environmental safety and sustainable development of the Arctic were discussed, and five sectional sessions on geological and geophysical research in the Arctic, environmental monitoring of the Arctic territories, impact of climate change on landscapes and biodiversity, economic development of the Arctic, natural and historical cultural heritage of the Arctic and subarctic territories, medical-ecological problems, research of dangerous natural and man-made products processes in the Arctic regions, methods of forecasting and prospecting for mineral resources, problems of design, construction and operation of engineering objects in the conditions of the Far North.

The conference was attended by about 200 scientists from Russia, Britain, Turkey and Ukraine, who are representatives of various scientific organizations and educational institutions, specially protected natural territories and museums, executive and legislative authorities of the Arkhangelsk region. In total, the Organizing Committee received 171 reports from 340 co-authors. Within the framework of the conference closing, participants summed up past meetings made several proposals to the resolution, presented memorable prizes to the authors of the best reports from each section.

On the section "Economic development of the Arctic: social and environmental-economic consequences. Medical and Ecological Problems of the Arctic Territories" the report of the MMBI researcher Andrey Karnatov "Methods of mapping the vulnerability of coastal-sea zones to oil/ Sample development for Kola Bay” was recognized as the best report among scientific works of the section.

According to the results of the conference, it is planned to release a collection of conference materials.
