MMBI HAS HELD A PRACTICAL SESSION FOR PUPILS IN THE PLANKTON LABORATORY

The plankton laboratory of Murmansk Marine Biological Institute was visited by pupils of 6-8 grades of secondary school No. 50 of Murmansk. Students got acquainted with activities of the Institute in November 2018 at the central site of the VIII All-Russian festival “Science 0+”, when they participated in popular science contests organized by MMBI. Guys wanted to get acquainted with marine biology closer and together with their teacher Natalia Khromykh came on May 14, 2019 at MMBI. They were met by hydrochemists Tatiana Ishkulova and Ivan Pastukhov, as well as planktonologists Marina Venger, Anatoly Oleinik and Igor Berchenko. Students got acquainted with methods of conducting plankton studies, as well as the main groups of organisms that make up the plankton of the northern seas: virio, bacterio, phyto, and zooplankton.
