The participants of the “Transarctic – 2019” expedition began preparations for arranging the future ice camp. On March 24, the first ice appeared on the horizon of the expeditionary vessel - as it is written in the diary of the expedition, which is maintained by the research associate of the ice regime and forecasts of the AARI Sergey Pryakhin (http://www.aari.ru/transarctika2019/ta_news.php). For researchers of MMBI KSC RAS, who is on board the Roshydromet RV "Akademik Treshnikov", comes a crucial stage. Soil sampling using quantitative samplers adapted for work at large depths and benthos processing in the ice cap is a new experience for young researchers of the Institute.
