ON PROBLEMS OF DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF VULNERABILITY MAPS OF COASTAL SEA ZONES FROM OIL

The monograph “Kola Bay and Oil: Biota, Vulnerability Maps, Pollution”, published by Murmansk Marine Biological Institute at the end of 2018, was presented to the general public by journalists from the Murman State TV and Radio Company. Authors of the book talked about sensitivity and vulnerability maps of coastal-sea zones to oil developed by the Institute, which, in the opinion of our scientists, should be used by emergency responders, environmentalists and industrialists. The book received a positive response in the Barents branch of WWF Russia.
March 21, 2019, at the next meeting of the Academic Council of MMBI KSC RAS, the main ideologist of this scientific direction the head of environmental engineering laboratories, Dr Sc. Anatoly Shavykin will make a scientific report “Vulnerability maps of coastal-sea zones from oil. Problems of development and implementation”.
