SCHOOL ON MARINE BIOLOGY "GENERATION 2019 CHOOSES ARCTIC RESEARCH" HAS BEGUN

School on Marine Biology "Generation 2019 chooses Arctic research" began its work at the Department of Biology and Aquatic Bioresources of Murmansk State Technical University, on February 26, 2019. Various events like lectures, master classes and scientific competitions will be held until March 6. The school is a traditional annual event of the Marine Biology, in which MSTU, MMBI KSC RAS and PINRO combine efforts of higher education, academic science and applied science in training of young personnel biological sciences in the Murmansk region.

Oleg Bondarev and Sergey Chaus from the Laboratory of Ichthyology and Physiology of MMBI KSC RAS conducted for the 1st and 2nd-year students studying in the area “Aquatic Bioresources and Aquaculture”, a master class “Identification of Northern Sea Fishes and their biological analysis” on February, 27. Young scientists used the material collected in sea expeditions to the Barents, Kara and East Siberian seas to conduct the class.

The program of the School will include a competition of research works of young scientists, graduate students, undergraduates, summing up, which will be held on March 5. A competent jury of researchers from MMBI will select the best scientific work in terms of fundamental areas of biological science development.
