GEOGRAPHIC WORKSHOP OF MMBI: METHODS FOR BUILDING OF VULNERABILITY MAPS OF AQUATORIES

On February 26, a regular meeting of the geological seminar of MMBI KSC RAS took place. The basis for the discussion was the scientific report of the scientific employee of the laboratory of environmental engineering A.N. Karnatov, "Methods of mapping the vulnerability of coastal-sea zones from oil on the example of the Kola Bay." The author presented the developed new provisions of the methodology for constructing maps of coastal-sea zones of vulnerability to oil based on the metric approach. The updated technique also allowed scientists to estimate on a metric scale the parameters that determine the vulnerability of biota, calculate new vulnerability coefficients and construct multi-scale seasonal maps of the integral vulnerability of the Kola Bay from oil for the first time. The report caused a wide discussion.
