MMBI SCIENTISTS PRESENTED RESULTS IN TROMSO AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ARCTIC FRONTIERS 2019

MMBI took part in the XIII International Conference on Arctic Issues - Arctic Frontiers 2019: Smart Arctic, from January 20 to 24 in Tromso (Norway). This largest annual scientific and practical forum brings together politicians, economists and scientists who, within the framework of plenary programs, discuss issues related to sustainable development of the Arctic regions, international cooperation, social and cultural problems, as well as the state of nature of the Arctic in conditions of climate change and anthropogenic pollution. In principle, the conference presents reports on various disciplines, and priority areas of work of scientific sessions change every year. The competition for the best work of young scientists is traditionally held.

Academician Gennady Matishov, a research scientist from the ichthyology and physiology laboratory, Evgenia Razhozheva, a research scientist from the laboratory of oceanography and radioecology, PhD Nikita Meshcheryakov, presented results of their research at the State of the Arctic poster session. Poster presentations of MMBI were devoted to contemporary problems of oceanography, the impact of climate on large marine ecosystems of the Arctic, the productivity of Atlantic cod and polar cod of the Barents Sea, radioecological studies of ecosystems in the zone of influence of West Svalbard glaciers.
