ANNIVERSARY CARTOGRAPHIC AND GEO-INFORMATION CONFERENCE TO BE HELD IN MURMANSK

In the period January 30 - February 2, 2019, the Murmansk regional branch of Russian Geographical Society, together with MASU, MMBI, Moscow State University, Russian Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences and other organizations, organizes a joint international conference "InterCarto / InterGIS-25" and “GIS for the Silk Road - 3".

This will be the 25th-anniversary conference of InterCarto / InterGIS. This time it is held in conjunction with the 3rd Chinese Conference "GIS for the Silk Road". The event will be attended by over 80 leading Russian and foreign experts in the field of cartography and geoinformatics. Foreign participants will come from China, Austria, Belgium, Italy, the Czech Republic and other countries.

The main platform of the scientific forum is MASU. The sections and roundtables of the conference will cover such topical issues of the Arctic agenda as geo-information support for navigation and scientific research in high latitudes, geo-information and cartographic support for environmental, economic and social aspects of the sustainable development of the Arctic territories, geo-information and cartographic support for the Arctic Silk Road.

The InterCarto conference series has a long history and is not repeated in the same place, both in the Russian and foreign parts.
