JOINT INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE INTERCARTO / INTERGIS-25 "GEO-INFORMATION SECURITY OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF TERRITORIES" AND "GIS FOR THE SILK ROAD - 3"

- Geoinformation and cartographic support of environmental, economic and social aspects of sustainable development of territories, scientific research in the Arctic, navigation in high latitudes;
- mobile geographic information systems;
- geoinformatics and public participation in environmental protection and risk management;
- geographic information support for the study of climate research, natural disasters and emergencies;
- ecological and sustainable tourism;
- urban planning and management;
- mapping of natural and cultural heritage;
- geopolitics, business and logistics;
- food security and sustainable agriculture
These are the main topics of the joint international conference InterCarto / InterGIS-25 "Geoinformational support for sustainable development of territories" and "GIS for the Silk Road - 3", which will be held this winter behind the Polar Circle in Murmansk.
The first part of this international conference will be held in Murmansk, the second is scheduled for the summer of 2019 in Japan. Among the organizers of the conference are well-known international and Russian organizations such as the International Cartographic Association, the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, the ICSU-WDS World Data System for Geography, the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Sevastopol State University, Section of Oceanology, Atmospheric Physics and Geography of the Division of Earth Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Within the framework of the conference, three seminars and roundtables are planned in Murmansk. Among the conference participants are scientists from China, Austria, Belgium, Iran, the Czech Republic, Poland, various cities of Russia: Moscow, Vologda, Perm, Irkutsk, Vladivostok, Tyumen, Barnaul, Krasnoyarsk, Murmansk.
Murmansk Marine Biological Institute, Murmansk Arctic State University and Murmansk Regional Branch of Russian Geographical Society are responsible for organizing the conference in Murmansk. The conference will be held from January 30 to February 2, 2019, in Murmansk on the basis of Murmansk Arctic State University and the Atomic Energy Information Center. Excursions around Murmansk and nuclear icebreaker "Lenin" are planned for the participants of the conference.
