MMBI SCIENTIST IS THE LAUREATE OF MONOGRAPHY AND SCIENTIFIC WORKS COMPETITION AIMED AT THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC AND INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT OF THE MURMANSK

December 25, 2018, honoured the winners and laureates of regional competitions of scientific works of the Murmansk region. This year, the leading researcher of zoobenthos laboratory, Ph.D. Ekaterina Obluchinskaya won the second place in the competition of monographs and scientific works aimed at the socio-economic and innovative development of the Murmansk region in the nomination "Technical and Natural Sciences" for the comprehensive scientific research "Innovative herbal medicines from the Barents Sea brown algae: technology and preclinical research".
The cycle of works and inventions of Ekaterina Obluchinskaya is aimed at solving the actual problem of natural resources of the Murmansk region rational use, namely the Barents Sea brown algae. Biologically active substances of the Arctic brown algae, which are studied in the present work, are the basis for the creation of innovative herbal remedies for the treatment and prevention of northerners socially significant diseases. The main purpose of the research was to identify factors affecting biological activity of developed phytocomplexes, including technological, physical and chemical, as well as a comprehensive assessment of qualitative and quantitative characteristics of new biological products.
