The election of Murmansk Marine Biological Institute director was recognized as valid.

On March 27, 2018, a staff of MMBI KSC RAS selected the new director of the Institute. Elections were held simultaneously in two polling stations: in the main building of MMBI in Murmansk and in Azov branch in Rostov-on-Don. Turnout in the election was 78%. Employees of MMBI had to choose one of two candidates who expressed a desire to run for the post of director of the Institute. These were Dr. of Sciences Makarov Mikhail Vladimirovich and Dr. of Sciences prof. Makarevich Pavel Robertovich. Both of them are current employees of MMBI KSC RAS. As a result, Pavel Makarevich, temporarily acting director of the Institute, confidently won with 88%.
